Seattle Symphony

Scan Design Foundation is a sponsor of the Seattle Symphony and their Danish conductor, Thomas Dausgaard. Maestro Dausgaard was appointed the Music Director for the Symphony in 2019.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Symphony discontinued live performances and began weekly rebroadcasts of past concerts.  During the first two weeks of March 2020, the Symphony had an impressive 190,000 views on social media channels.  Danish viewership was 1,600 individuals.

Benaroya Hall upgraded its recording and broadcasting capability in preparation for the launch of their new streaming service, Seattle Symphony Live.   The Scan Design Foundation became the Seattle Symphony 2020-21 Season Livestream Partner. Each week the Symphony broadcasted a new live broadcast with acclaimed guest artists and dynamic performances. Concerts were made available on-demand for seven days following the live broadcasts.

The sponsorship of the Seattle Symphony falls within the Foundation's mission of fostering mutual understanding between Denmark and the USA through educational and cultural activities.
